Peri/Menopause Care

SWPM has certified menopause nurse practitioner experts highly trained in mid-life women's health.

Perimenopause is the transitional time leading up to menopause, when fluctuating hormones may cause changes in periods, sleep, mood, energy, weight, libido, and brain fog.

Menopause begins after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period and may bring persistent hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal or urinary changes, and changes in bone, heart, and sexual health.

Treatment may include personalized hormone therapy, nonhormonal medications, lifestyle support, and targeted supplements.

Female Sexual Health

Sexual health concerns are common, but women often suffer in silence or accept discomfort and decreased desire as a normal part of aging. Whether symptoms are related to hormonal changes, childbirth, surgery, pelvic floor dysfunction, or menopause, Sigma offers personalized options that may include vaginal hormones, nonhormonal therapies, sexual-health medications, and referral to pelvic floor therapy. Female Testosterone Therapy

Women naturally have higher circulating levels of testosterone than estrogen, and testosterone supports sexual desire, arousal, muscle and bone health, motivation, mood, and overall well-being. Yet the United States still has no FDA-approved testosterone formulation designed specifically for women—an inequity Sigma is committed to challenging.

When clinically appropriate, we offer carefully individualized, low-dose testosterone—most often transdermal cream or weekly subcutaneous injection—with ongoing symptom and laboratory monitoring to maintain female physiologic levels.

Preventative Health

Preventive care is essential to living well and aging with strength. Sigma helps keep you up to date with routine laboratory testing and recommended screenings, including referrals for cervical cancer screening, mammograms, bone-density testing, and colorectal cancer screening—so important changes are identified early and nothing falls through the cracks.
